This page explains what data is created when you read adamporkolab.com (and the addresses that point here, adamporkolab.hu and porkolab.hu), and what I do with it. In short: I sell nothing, build no profiles, and statistics only start if you explicitly accept them in the cookie banner.

What the server sees

The site runs on a self-managed server behind the Cloudflare network (speed and protection against attacks). Every request produces the usual technical data: IP address, time, the page requested and the browser type. I use these only to keep the site secure (for example, to block automated attacks), and they are deleted after a short time. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running the site securely.

Cookies and settings stored in your browser

Always active (needed for the site to work, no consent required):

• pll_language — remembers whether you read in English or Hungarian (1 year).
• wp_consent_statistics — records what you chose in the cookie banner, so you are not asked again (30 days).
• __cf_bm, cf_clearance — Cloudflare’s security cookies, used to filter out bots and attacks (from a few minutes up to 1 year). On the contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the sender is not a bot.
• In your browser’s local storage (not a cookie, never sent to the server): your cookie choice, light/dark mode, focus and audio settings, your reading position and the score of the “adventure game”.

Only after you accept:

• Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) — _ga, _ga_… cookies (up to 2 years). I use it to see which pieces people read and where readers come from. If you decline, the Google code is not loaded at all.

Alongside it runs a self-hosted, cookie-free statistics tool (Umami), also only after you accept: it counts page views and stores no personal data and no cookies.

External content

The site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and the author image from Gravatar (Automattic). Your browser connects to these providers directly, so they receive your IP address; they set no cookies.

Contact form and e-mail

If you write via the form or by e-mail, I use your name, e-mail address and message only to reply, and I do not pass them on. The correspondence stays in my mailbox until the conversation ends or until you ask me to delete it.

Newsletter, profiling, sales

None. Comments are disabled, there is no user registration, and I show no advertising.

Your rights

You may ask me what data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to [email protected]. If you believe I have violated your rights, you can lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority (NAIH, naih.hu) or the authority in your own country.
